Inspector / Quality Technician
Description

The primary responsibility of the Inspector is to verify product conformance, generally through measurements or testing. The Inspector will be required to use some highly technical equipment such as a CMM, white light interferometer, and vision systems. Additionally, there is a wealth of standard hand tools and gaging the Inspector should be very familiar with using.

Responsibilities
  • - Performing in-process inspections by confirming product meets the applicable specifications.
  • - Performing final inspections by confirming product meets the applicable specifications, may include dimensional verification, visual examination, or verifying the appropriate documentation is in place.
  • - Performing first article inspections, this includes creating the bubble diagram and first article inspection form(s). The inspector should be familiar with alternate formats such as AS9100 or customer specific forms.
  • - Documenting Non-conformances, includes determining the scope of the non-conformance, segregating and tagging the NCM, and communicating the non-conformance to the necessary personnel. Additionally, may involve communicating directly with customers to resolve the non-conformance.
  • - Scan and file quality records where needed.
  • - Maintain a work environment by following standards and company procedures.
  • - Performing regular cleaning and maintenance of inspection labs and the equipment therein.
  • - Assist personnel throughout the plant with interpretation of drawings and specifications.
Qualifications
  • - Well versed with the ASME Y14.5.
  • - Experience with inspection of threads, including screw thread, pipe thread, and British threads.
  • - Familiar with common post processes such as heat treat, plating, part marking.
  • - At least 3 yrs experience in mechanical inspection.
  • - Be able to use all hand tools (OD, blade, pitch mic's) and height gages.
  • - Be able to program or operate a CMM using PCDMIS
  • - Be able to program or operate an OGP or Keyence vision system.
  • - Knowledge of SPC a plus.
