We  assisted a customer in the design, drafting, and manufacturing, of a multilayer mold stack. There were several plates including the mold plate, thermal and cooling plates, and mounting plates, but only the mold plate is pictured.

We took the existing technology and made enhancements to improve upon the design, redrafted the drawings to so that the interface features were the datums, and worked with customer on assigning tolerances. Once approved, we made several of the mold stacks.

Tolerances were tight on the cavities, they were surfaced in the mill and some features had to be hand polished after. Full first article inspection was required on each mold plate.
