Description

A Precision Assembler assembles parts and subassemblies to create complete products, often utilizing specialized tools and adhering to strict quality standards. They work from blueprints and instructions, ensuring parts are accurately fitted and aligned. Precision Assemblers also perform inspections and tests to identify and correct any defects, and may participate in process improvements.  A Precision Assembler job involves assembling intricate parts and components with high accuracy and attention to detail, often using specialized tools and equipment. They follow detailed blueprints and specifications to ensure parts fit correctly and meet quality standards.

Having a machining background is a must.

Responsibilities
  • Assembling parts: Following blueprints and specifications to assemble parts, subassemblies, and final products.
  • Using tools and equipment: Utilizing hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to assemble parts.
  • Diagnosing and resolving issues: Identifying and resolving assembly issues, such as incorrect fit or malfunctions.
  • Contributing to improvements: Suggesting and implementing process improvements to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Part Modification: Being able to run a VMC machine to modify parts.
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail: The ability to work with precision and accuracy.
  • Machining background: A strong understanding of machining. 
  • Problem-solving skills: The ability to identify and resolve assembly issues. 
  • Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret blueprints and schematics. 
  • Tool and equipment knowledge: Familiarity with various hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments. 
  • Communication skills: The ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues. 
  • Machining: The ability to modify parts on either a VMC, lathe, or manual lathe.
