This is a special chair use by radiology groups to help position patients for spine imaging. An imaging technologist wanted a modified version of what they were currently using to fit her application. We met with a team of imaging technologists to see the original chair and discuss the feasibility of the proposed changes.
They provided us with a list of proposed changes, such as to be able to back the chair against a wall mounted image panel. We were able to redesign the back pivot and latching to achieve what they needed. The original Oakdale design accomplished all the changes.
Following a design review we then simplified the design using sheet metal to reduce the part count by 75% and improve the pivot latch system for simpler operation.
These chairs are in use today.
